I’ve played with Preferences>Formatting and Format>Text>Tabs and Indents to adjust the default indent and tab settings. Each time I highlight text and apply bullet settings, the defaults change back to.

One thing I haven’t been able to figure out is how to set this as the default for new Scrivener files (UPDATE: I figured it out, as described in the next paragraph). When you compile, the bullets should placed according to the adjusted setting … but if not, use the “preserve indentation” setting described in my post about Scrivener blockquote formatting. 15″ difference) some of these larger bullet formats will be forced to the next tab marker, adding an additional. If the indent marker is too close to the tab marker (for instance, just. 2″ before the tab marker, which gives enough space for larger Scrivener bullet types, including numbers with the close parens symbol.

I recommend adjusting the indentation to. Let go of the indent marker when it is at the position you want.A vertical line will appear in the highlighted text, showing the new position of the bullet (see screenshot below).

With the text still highlighted, grab the indentation marker (which looks like a right-pointing triangle) and pull it to the right.

It looks weird on the printed page (I export to PDF for CreateSpace and LSI). The problem: The distance between bullets and indented text in Scrivener is too large. I've just had a very frustrating week trying to compile with Scrivener 3! Someone please tell me how amazing it is.File this entry under Frustrating Scrivener Quirks: A quick lesson on how to adjust Scrivener bullet spacing. Or maybe it has something to do with the font? Anyway, at least I can use it on new stuff.
#CANNOT GET SCRIVENER 3 TO INDENT PARAGRAPHS CORRRECTLY UPDATE#
I don't know if something is borking when I update the file from Scriv 2 to 3. All I need is a way to remove indents after centred text.ĮDIT 2: Okay, so I got it to work on a brand new project, but not old books. I'm sure there's an obvious solution here that I'm missing in Scrivener's baffling compile function, but I just need help finding it. I tried 'remove whitespace from documents' but this didn't get rid of it. In Scriv 2 there was an option for removing indents after centred text now the option is 'after other elements' but it doesn't bloody work!ĮDIT: I did try what L&L told me to do and it worked, but now I have a gap between *** and the next line of text, which obviously isn't correct. I mean, the fact I can't remove paragraph indents after a flippin' scene break is baffling to me.

This is a minor thing, but my favourite font has disappeared. So now I can't send a flippin' book to my kindle from my laptop anymore. (WHY?!) But the latest kindle previewer won't work with my laptop. I can't compile to mobi anymore unless I have kindle previewer. I'm not going through all my flippin' books to do that, thanks. The advice from L&L was to go in and add a return after each one. I can't get paragraph indents to remove after *** scene breaks. I've imported my old presets but it's still a headache. However an update on one of my computers forced me to get Scrivener 3, and I HATE it. I'm a long-term user of Scrivener 2 (Mac) and have loved it for the most part.
